Plaid and stripes are two of my favourite patterns (not counting polka dots of course). One of the best parts about this combo, is that they look pretty awesome together.
I constantly feel like I am looking for the perfect plaid blouse, and last year I found it at Zara. Personally, I prefer a fitted plaid shirt, otherwise I feel like I end up in a lumberjack situation, which is okay sometimes, but not when I’m wearing a skirt and heels. The reason I love plaid is because it feels familiar, like a warm hug on a cold day or a cup of hot tea and gingerbread cookies around the Christmas tree. Plus, a plaid blouse is as close to a “Canadian” style as you could get.
I recently purchased another plaid blouse from J.Crew, which I have yet to wear, but now I’m lusting after another one, and to be honest, it’s hard to resist (I will though, have to save those pennies). By the way, they’re on sale over on J.Crew Factory store!
This skirt was purchased for $10 from a Tommy Hilfiger outlet. Best ten bucks I’ve ever spent! Oh, it also has pockets. High five!
I bought these ASOS heels on a whim, and a part of me regrets the choice, while the other half really loves them. They’re quite comfortable, but the first time I wore them, I got the absolute worst blisters. I still have the scars – ouch! The bonus is that they were cheap, and they look stylish, but in terms of wearing them out for long period of time, I’m a little hesitant.
