If someone asked me for my favourite time of day, I’d have to say golden hour. Essentially, it’s “the first hour of light after sunrise, and the last hour of light before sunset” or the most beautiful time of day. The light disappears so quickly during golden hour that there’s hardly any time to think about what you’re photographing, it’s all about feeling the light. That sounds pretentious, doesn’t it?
This floral dress is so dainty and light, that it almost looks ethereal floating along in the golden light. I’ve always thought it’s incredible how light can change a thing, a person, a scene or even the world for that matter. It’s strange when you think about it because the sun sets and rises every single day, and although that in itself is a miraculous feat (generally overlooked because it’s so commonplace), every single hour, every single minute, the light is different.
Golden hour changes the world — it brings forward the end of the day but it also calms the world. I’ve always felt that no matter how my day went, golden hour would solve it all. It’s a time of reminiscing, contemplating, and simply breathing. As someone who places an extraordinary amount of importance on my clothing, I feel like golden hour only enhances the fabric, the patterns – it erases the flaws, and lights up the beauty.
How do you feel about golden hour? Standing in a field with the golden light shining down on me felt ethereal. It was simple put, magical.
