I bought this floral crop top at the end of last summer. It was cheap, it was floral, and it had a collar. All the things that yours truly adores.
I’m not exactly sure how I feel about this crop top. On one hand, I love it aesthetically, but on the other hand, it’s not the most comfortable piece of clothing, and is quite difficult to wear. It’s really cropped, to the extent that wearing it with even my high rise jeans, it looks too much for me. I think the real issue is the collar, and the fact that it’s not form fitting at the bottom. Even though it’s a crop top, it feels quite stuffy. I also think finding the right crop top for your body type is essential, and for me, this one doesn’t really cut it. I’m thinking I’ll like it more in the autumn time with a cardigan. Either way, it’s all about making it work.
I like talking about my not so great purchases on my blog because I think it’s important to recognize that sometimes we buy things that we end up regretting, and no one truly has a perfectly curated closet. Life would be boring that way. It’s fun to go back through my archives and laugh at outfits I used to love, or start to appreciate outfits I dismissed as bad before. It’s all about perspective at the end of the day.
Espadrille wedges are all the rage right now, which is awesome because I’ve finally found wedges that are comfortable to wear all day, and also give me an extra bit of height! I love shoes but I hate shoe shopping. I feel like it’s the worst task because finding a good pair of shoes takes forever. There are always so many little things to consider, that usually I just give up and stick with what I already have. The problem is when you realize you might have to start going barefoot if you don’t find something.
I picked these espadrille wedges up at Winners (where else?).
