When a there’s a snowfall, as a blogger, you take full advantage of the photo background that mother nature provided. I also took this as a chance to test out my brilliantly beautiful purple hat that my mom bought for me during the summer.
I feel like this is the purple hat of dreams, and it makes me think of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. There’s something almost magical about the hat, perhaps the band around the middle, and how it glistens in the light? At first I thought the purple hair and the purple hat would be a bit overkill, but in actuality, I’m incredibly happy that I waited till I had my purple hair to style the hat. I definitely see myself styling it a handful of different ways throughout the coming months — I’m thinking all black, my holographic shoes, and the hat. Yes? No? Either way, it’s definitely worth experimenting.
This plaid skirt is one of those pieces in my wardrobe that I always come back to when I feel like I have nothing to wear. Despite an overflowing closet, I still have moments where it feels like I have absolutely no clothing prospects. Everything looks ugly, feels uncomfortable, and has me questioning my wardrobe curation skills. I feel like most people would usually drift towards a monochrome piece, perhaps a pair of jeans, or a simple white blouse, but I always come back to this plaid skirt. Perhaps it’s my nostalgia for years of wearing a uniform (although not as strict as the uniform I envisioned for myself — hello Rory Gilmore’s Chilton uniform) or just my fascination with the orderly and scholarly look of delicate collars, plaid skirts, and cardigans. Whatever it is, this skirt speaks to me, and when I need a quick outfit, it’s this plaid skirt, a simple top, and I’m out the door.
